Coordinate and drive research delivery across Immersive Technologies for Heritage Engagement and Preservation projects, with a primary focus on Human Computer Interaction (HCI) evaluation: planning, executing, managing, and analysing user studies across lab and real-world pilot settings, ensuring research rigour, ethics compliance, and actionable insights for iterative prototype improvement, evaluation and publication.
Key Responsibilities
1) HCI Research & User Study Leadership
. Lead end-to-end design and delivery of user studies
. Define research questions and develop study protocols
. Manage study operations
2) Research analysis and evaluation
. Analyse qualitative and quantitative data (mixed methods) and synthesise findings into clear design/engineering recommendations.
. Maintain cross-project evaluation and reports
3) Research coordination
. Coordinate co-design workshops and pilot deployments with grantor and project partners consolidate requirements and feedback into actionable plans.
. Support dissemination: academic papers, toolkits, demonstrations, and research reports.
. PhD in HCI, UX Research, Interactive Media, XR, Computer Science, Design Research, or a related field.
Required Experience & Skills
1) Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) & User Studies (Core)
. Strong foundation in HCI methods and UX evaluation for interactive systems
. Demonstrated experience to conduct, manage, and analyse user studies
2) Mixed-Methods Data Analysis
. Ability to triangulate findings across methods and produce clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3) Coordination & Stakeholder Management
. Proven ability to coordinate multi-stream research work across interdisciplinary teams and external partners
. Strong communication and documentation skills able to translate stakeholder needs into measurable study outcomes and development priorities.
