The Decarbonisation Programme Singapore Max-Planck Alliance for the Sustainable Conversion of Biomass is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Development of automated self-optimizing small-scale flow processes.

The primary objectives are generation and optimization of automated flow protocols for the chemical conversion of biomass.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction of a flexible flow platform to perform small-scale conversions

  • Implementation of its automation and closed-loop optimization

  • Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers

  • Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings

  • Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.

Job Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field

  • Experience in python is required

  • Experience in flow chemistry

  • Experience in reactor design is beneficial

  • Experience in process control and PAT

  • Knowledge and interest in closed-loop optimization

  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics is beneficial

  • Experience with laboratory automation and flow platforms

  • Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
