The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow in the Division of Family Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Division envisions developing a reputation in the Asia Pacific region as a Centre of excellence in Family Medicine and Primary Care service delivery, education and training and research. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension contingent upon good performance and funds availabilities.
Purpose of the post
The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic and operational delivery of the WONCA‑Lancet Primary Care Commission, supporting evidence generation, manuscript preparation, and milestone tracking across a large international collaboration. This role requires initiative, strong organisational skills, and the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders to help position NUS Medicine as a global leader in primary care research.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Scientific Coordination & Research Management
. Lead and coordinate the scientific workflow underpinning the Commission, including protocol development, methodological approaches, and evidence synthesis
. Support the Principal Investigator in the design, execution, and integration of work across multiple research streams
. Conduct literature reviews, data analysis, and evidence appraisal to inform the Commission's recommendations
. Draft, refine, and coordinate sections of the WONCA-Lancet Commission report
. Lead or co author peer reviewed publications derived from the Commission's work.
. Liaise with local and international commissioners, research teams, and/or thematic experts to ensure scientific coherence and alignment
2. Project Leadership & Quality Assurance
. Develop and maintain scientific timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance processes
. Ensure methodological rigour and adherence to ethical, academic, and publication standards
. Present scientific findings during meetings, workshops, and international consultations
3. Other Responsibilities
. Undertake additional duties as required by the PI or Departmental leadership to support ongoing research and departmental priorities
. Maintain accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date documentation in the Department's research repository to ensure continuity and compliance
. Provide a thorough and well‑organised handover of all responsibilities, documents, and work-in-progress when transitioning out of the role
