Research Fellow (Contract, Endocrinology Services)

We are currently seeking a motivated Research Fellow to join our multidisciplinary research team investigating the growth and developmental aspects of adolescence through large-scale studies such as the GUSTO and S-PRESTO cohorts.

You will engage in studies on how brain-body interactions, cognitive-emotional development, physical health, and lifestyle factors such as obesity and sleep patterns play a role in the growth and development of a child during adolescence. This work aims to identify areas for screening and intervention, shaping strategies and informing adolescent-specific recommendations on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to design, plan, and execute research projects focusing on adolescent growth and development, particularly the interactions between cognitive-emotional development, physical health, and lifestyle factors.

• Independently design and analyse research data, provide expert guidance and supervise data analysis, and collaborate with others on dataset integration, analysis, and results interpretation.

• Monitor and manage the day-to-day progress of research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and deadlines.

• Manage administrative responsibilities related to IRB applications, ensuring compliance with ethical, regulatory, and legal standards, and liaise with supporting departments and stakeholders.

• Present research findings at national and international conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

• Contribute to the development of grant proposals and reports for funding agencies.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, researchers, public health experts from universities, government agencies, and industrial partners.

• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirement:

• PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health Sciences, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Nutrition or a related discipline.

• Experience in statistical analysis using programmes such as R or Stata with a focus on health data modelling.

• Relevant experience in a clinical research setting.

• Good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

• A track record of peer-reviewed publications.

• Ability to work independently and with a team to facilitate effective collaboration.

• Experience with AI and machine learning methods is preferred.
