Job Description
Lead project planning, governance, and execution of the pilot plant at PacificLight's site by coordinating academic and industrial partners, contractors, and vendors; managing project schedule, budget, resources, procurement, EHS compliance, permits, risk, and change control; overseeing construction, commissioning (including leak tests, interlock validation, and staged start-up), and performance verification; and ensuring effective stakeholder communication, reporting, and successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in managing engineering, pilot plant, or industrial R&D projects is preferred.
- Experience as a Project Manager leading the full lifecycle of chemical process projects, including process design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover to operation, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and risk management.
- Familiarity with construction, commissioning, and start-up of chemical or energy process facilities is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and regulatory compliance for engineering projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project reporting skills.
- Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2) is desirable but not mandatory.
