Job Description

The successful candidate will work with A/P Darren Yeo Chong Jinn on eDNA under a project titled Optimising environmental DNA approaches for detection and monitoring of forest streams and freshwater swamp diversity.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Field and lab work required for the project
• Data analyses and report preparation
• Dissemination of findings via publications and presentations
• Project management and procurement

Qualifications

PhD in Ecology and/or Life Science or equivalent.

Skills:

• Research skills including statistical and analytic skills is essential
• Excellent writing abilities are desirable
• Physically fit for fieldwork in tropical freshwater environment
• Independence, but also able to work well with others in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Leadership qualities and independence, while able to lead and/or work well with others in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment

Experience:

• Prior experience in aquatic field research and molecular biology
