We are seeking a highly motivated and interdisciplinary research fellow to support the development of emerging technologies in scent digitalization and computation, alongside related research in stretchable electronic devices and biointegrated systems. The role will involve developing innovative materials, devices, and platforms for sensing, monitoring, and broader healthcare applications. The successful candidate will work across biomaterials, flexible devices, and translational engineering, contributing to NTU's research in advanced sensing technologies and functional systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research on stretchable, wearable and implantable electronic devices for biointerfacing and healthcare-related sensing applications.

  • Design and develop biomaterials-enabled sensing platforms for monitoring regenerative microenvironments.

  • Integrate flexible sensors, functional materials and device architectures to achieve multimodal signal acquisition, including chemical, mechanical and physiological readouts.

  • Plan and execute in vitro and in vivo validation studies to evaluate device performance, biocompatibility, therapeutic relevance and closed-loop monitoring capability.

  • Collaborate with materials scientists, chemists, clinicians and electronic engineers to translate concepts into prototype systems with practical application potential.

  • Contribute to fabrication process optimization, device prototyping, data interpretation and technical documentation for project milestones and deliverables.

  • Assist in manuscript preparation, conference presentations, grant development, and reporting to funding agencies and collaborators.

  • Mentor junior researchers and students, and support general laboratory management, procurement and equipment coordination where required.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Orthopaedics, Regenerative Medicine, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated research experience in tissue engineering, regeneration, biomaterials, hydrogel systems, 3D bioprinting, implantable devices, or related areas.

  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: flexible or stretchable electronics, wearable or implantable sensors, microfabrication, biosensing, device prototyping, or biointerface engineering.

  • Familiarity with in vitro and in vivo validation, molecular biology assays, imaging, histology, animal studies, or regenerative microenvironment analysis.

  • Strong publication record in high-quality journals and the ability to independently drive research tasks to completion.

  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment.

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
