Job Description

The AI-Driven Energy Chemistry research group at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology (CCEB), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, is dedicated to fundamental research in the field of energy chemistry. The group aims to explore innovative applications of advanced AI models and technologies in this field. Research topics include catalyst design, multi-scale modelling, spectroscopic analysis, and more. The group has extensive research experience in theoretical calculations, energy science, and machine learning. The research emphasizes the integration of theory and experiments, focusing on the practical application of projects.

We are seeking a dynamic research fellow to drive cutting-edge innovation in AI-driven energy catalysis, contributing to NTU's mission of advancing important sectors of sustainable energy solutions and AI for science. This role is pivotal in bridging theoretical chemistry with AI technologies, enabling a deeper understanding in catalytic mechanism and enhanced applicability of catalyst design. By integrating machine learning with energy science, the fellow will play a key role in shaping the future of energy chemistry, furthering NTU's leadership in scientific research and technological innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research related to machine learning theoretical energy chemistry

  • Implement new findings through computational simulations and collaborate with experimentalists

  • Publish research papers in reputable journals and give talks on international conferences

  • Project updates to principal investigator

  • Assist in proposal preparation

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, computer science, or other related fields

  • Research background in theoretical catalysis/materials science, AI/ML, computational modelling (DFT, MD, etc.)

  • Good publication record

  • Good written and spoken communication skills

  • Programming skills
