We are looking for a Research Fellow to work in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and conduct research on digital manufacturing strategies for construction, with a particular focus on 3D concrete printing and architected designs. The role will focus on performing independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives, developing new solutions, and publishing high-quality journal papers. The appointment is for 1 year with a provision for further extensions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on digital fabrication technologies for construction, including 3D concrete printing.

  • Plan and carry out experimental programs involving the fabrication, testing, and characterization of concrete and composite materials.

  • Develop architected structures using numerical simulation, topology optimization and parametric design tools.

  • Contribute to the dissemination of research outcomes through peer-reviewed journal publications and technical reports.

  • Assist in securing external funding through grant applications and proposals.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • At least 2 years of technical hands-on experience in 3D concrete printing and proficiency in numerical simulation.

  • Strong academic record with demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
