Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking to recruit a Research Engineer to participate in an innovative research project focused on developing an application solution for robotics integrated with Building Information Modelling (BIM). This project aims to create a software solution capable of controlling robotic automation using BIM data inputs, specifically for the inspection and assembly of fit-out elements in Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the software architecture, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, leading a group of interns, and applying advanced robotics techniques to support the project objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field from a reputable university.
  • Evidence of strong publication record in top academic journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly in Python , C++ and ROS for automation and data analysis tasks.
  • Experience in robot systems development and testing.
  • Experience in multi-sensor data processing, SLAM or environmental mapping is preferred.
  • Strong research experience, specifically in past research projects related to robotics is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Open to fixed-term contract.
