Research Engineer (6-month contract), SCIS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is for School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS).
• Design efficient and effective training algorithms.
• Implement your designed algorithms and your supervisor's algorithms.
• Evaluate them on the representative AI models like ResNet, Vision Transformer, and LLAMA.
• Write papers.
• Give presentations if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum 1 years of relevant research experience in AI or machine learning or optimization or computer vision.
• Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as python, and PyTorch will be positively considered/ is required.
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on :
  • Large AI models and their training algorithms
  • System designlike memory and computational controlling in AI systems.
• Top-tier conference or journal papers like NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICCV, TPAMI, JMLR are preferred but not necessary.
• Good analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
• Applicants with research publications in optimization and machine learning areas will be advantageous.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members.
