Research Engineer (11-month contract or contract till 31 July 2027), RISE

Job Description

This position is for Centre for Research on Intelligent Software Engineering (RISE).

The candidate will be responsible for supporting the research on LLM supply chain security and coordinating the project activities. The aim is to support the collection and analysis of LLM applications and the construction of datasets and benchmarks. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Prof XIE Xiaofei from School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University.

Candidate's core responsibilities are:

• Support the collection of LLM applications, including web applications, mobile applications and others.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the automated component analysis pipeline for LLM applications.
• Construct and maintain the datasets and benchmarks for the components, and support experimental evaluation.
• Develop the method of LLM-based penentration testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant research experience in AI, data analysis or cybersecurity.
• Basic knowledge/Proficiency in programming software/languages such as Python and Java will be positively considered/ is required.
• Demonstrated experience and know-how on software analysis and data analysis.
• Experience with at least one programming software/languages, such as Python, C or Java is preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of data analysis, program analysis and vulnerability analysis.
• Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills.
• Applicants with research publications in AI, software engineering and cybersecurity area will be advantageous.
• Self-motivated individual who can work independently and also collaboratively with team members.
