A Research Associate position is currently available in the Division of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM), NBS. The role of the RA involves develop (a) competitive dynamic pricing model for multi-flight airlines (b) an empirical model that assess the impact of DP on customer loyalty (c) process a massive real-world database to valid the models in (a) and (b) (d) produce research papers for top conferences and top journals in operations management and data science.
Responsibilities:
Support the PI/Co-PIs in research efforts
Develop a competitive dynamic pricing model for multi-flight airlines that can be implemented in real world.
Develop empirical model investigating the impact of dynamic pricing volatility on customer loyalty.
Process the airline transaction data (2017-2019, about 20GB) and develop the necessary research databases for specific purposes needed for the overall completion of the project.
Develop models to unconstraint the demand and apply them to the real data.
Together with PI/Co-Pis, write academic papers for conference presentations and submission to top-tier journals.
Requirements:
Minimum Master by Research or near PhD competition or PhD in Operations Management with core competency in stochastic optimization and Markov Decision Process (MDP) modeling.
Possess excellent skill in data analytics and good understanding in ML, RL, LLMs, etc.
At least 2 years of relevant experiences in similar role (such as RA) / technical hands-on experience (with clear evidence)
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB.
Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
