School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology conducts research in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering to tackle new challenges in chemicals manufacturing, healthcare, energy, food, and other important sectors.
We would like to strengthen his research activity on syntheses of polymers and porous polymer materials by hiring a Research Associate.
The candidate will work on polymer chemistry with focus on the following research themes:
1. Synthesis of polymers using organocatalyzed controlled radical polymerization.
2. Creation of porous polymer materials to adsorb ions.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in conducting research projects with team members to ensure completion of deliverables.
Lead the design, synthesis, and optimization of polymers and polymer materials.
Conduct laboratory experiments for the synthesis of polymers and polymer materials, including purification and characterization using techniques such as NMR, GPC, and electron microscopes.
Optimize synthetic routes and troubleshoot any challenges encountered during synthesis.
Analyze experimental data, maintain meticulous records, and contribute to report and manuscript preparation.
Job Requirements:
MSc in the field of Chemistry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good synthetic experimental skills for controlled radical polymerization.
Good knowledge of synthetic polymer chemistry.
Good writing skills for reports and publication in academic journals.
