Job Description

The Social Inclusion Project (SIP) at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy specializes in independent, rigorous and impactful social policy research on Singapore and the region. It focuses on overlooked and emerging social challenges, and how public policies can create an open, diverse and inclusive society. Its activities aim to influence policy thinking, shape public conversations and promote opportunities for participation. Established in 2020, the SIP has been involved in studies such as Singapore's first Nationwide Street Count of Homelessness and Minimum Income Standards.

The Research Assistant will support SIP's research projects (across all stages, such as literature review, fieldwork, analysis, writing and dissemination), and outreach and engagement initiatives. They will also assist with other administrative tasks to enable the smooth running of SIP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in a social science discipline from a reputable university (e.g., Sociology, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Intellectual curiosity and openness
  • Interest in public policy and its impacts on issues related to social inclusion and inequality
  • Understanding of the research and advocacy landscape in Singapore
