THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors Community, and Therapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking applications for a Research Assistant to join our research unit. The selected candidate will work primarily within our Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services. THK EIC conducts small group programmes that are specially designed to support young children with developmental delays.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of tasks related to research projects. He/ she must be able to work well with our research unit, external consultants and our large team of early intervention professionals. In addition, he/she is expected to handle some research tasks across other Services within THKMC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work respectfully with research participants, members of the research unit and other THKMC professionals
• Manage administrative tasks related to research projects e.g. coordinating meetings, scheduling research tasks, requesting for information etc
• Carry out data collection, data entry and data analysis
• Conduct literature reviews
• Assist in preparation of research reports, findings and presentations to stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, early childhood education, cognitive neuroscience, social work or related disciplines from an accredited university
• Expertise in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good time management and communication skills
• Analytical in thinking organised and meticulous with all tasks

OTHER INFORMATION

• Experience working on research projects
• Experience/Interest in Early Childhood/Early Intervention/Social Services
• Experience working in large multi-disciplinary teams

This position is offered as a one-year contract, subjected to renewal upon review.
