A Research Assistant position is open in the Cognitive Science and Trustworthy AI (CoSTA) Lab, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). The Research Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on one or more research projects. The candidate will join the research team in the areas of trustworthy artificial intelligence, large language models, and AI agents.
The Successful Candidate Is Required To:
. Contribute to research on trustworthy and responsible AI, including privacy, safety, robustness, and fairness.
. Develop and evaluate large language models, foundation models, and agentic AI systems.
. Implement machine learning algorithms, experimental frameworks, and research prototypes.
. Conduct experiments, analyse results, and maintain reproducible research code.
. Publish research findings in leading journals and conferences.
. Prepare and meet project deliverables and milestones.
. A recognised Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
. Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
. Prior research or project experience in machine learning, natural language processing, large language models, or trustworthy AI.
. Good team player and able to work independently.
. Strong organisational, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
. Meticulous, able to work well under pressure, and committed to meeting deadlines.
. Open to a fixed-term contract.
