The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. Professor Lim Kah Leong is a renowned scientist in the areas of neuroscience and mental health, particularly in the field of Parkinson's disease (PD). With a long-term goal to elucidate the molecular events underlying PD and to effectively treat the disease, his research centres on mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration, which will reveal targets for neuroprotection. He is also developing new research technologies in the area of stem cells and neuro-restoration as well as in diagnostics and neurotechnology, where he collaborates extensively with chemists, materials scientists and engineers. His laboratory uses a broad range of disease models including Drosophila, rodents, human neurons and brain organoids generated from patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells and non-human primates (marmosets).For more details, please view:
We are looking for a Research Assistant/Associate to support a new project funded by NMRC entitled, . (Reference:). The candidate should be a motivated and self-driven individual with keen interest in Neuroscience. RCULAC certification and prior experience with animal work and omics analysis will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Support mouse related work and experiments including post-mortem analysis of brain sections through immunohistochemistry and biochemical analysis
Support iPS stem cell culture work and experiments
Conduct mitochondrial assays
Able to perform omics analysis
Required educational qualification, experience, skills and competencies:
Degree in relevant fields required as minimum education.
Prior experience with animal work and RCULAC certification will be advantageous.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Interpersonal skills (e.g. Ability to work independently/ meticulous/ eye for details/ excellent organizational/ time management skills).
