Our client is a reputable name in the Shipping Industry. Currently, they are seeking a suitably qualified candidate to join them as Research Analyst (Tanker)(Shipping). This role will primarily be tasked with the following responsibilities :
Provide valuable analysis of shipping & oil markets along with global & local events that help shape them
Producing & distributing daily reports and giving briefs on market developments, research & analysis, building forecast models etc
Addressing conferences and satisfying the research needs of stakeholders
Provide up to the minute market insight
Contribute meaningfully to generating a department view of the crude/product tanker markets
Writing market research notes
Producing reports with both a short and long-term focus
Giving client presentations
Maintaining and improving in-house econometric models
Assisting with client requests and queries
Gathering, processing and analysing data from a large number of sources
Requirements:
Degree Holder in related fields, preferably in a quantitative subject such as Economics, Finance, Statistics etc or Shipping
Minimum 2 to 5 years of research experience in the shipping market
Good command of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI and E-views
Excellent analytical, numerical, and organisational skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to write technically and concisely or deliver analysis verbally in an engaging style about the complex subject matter
Attention to detail and focus on accuracy
Proactive approach to data and information management
Ability to work both as a team and as an individual when handling client requests or undertaking value-added projects and analysis
Python & Econometric modelling skills
Sound understanding of the global oil market
