Renewable Energy Engineer

Reporting to the Singapore Energy Team leader, the focus of this role is to help devise and execute low carbon and renewable energy engagements as well as undertake feasibility studies, engineering design and project management tasks.

Responsibilities:

. Undertake feasibility studies and design roles for utility-scale renewable energy projects
. Undertake energy yield assessments for wind, solar, energy storage and hybrid projects
. Undertake Technical Due Diligence in renewable energy (wind, solar), energy storage and nuclear sectors
. Deliver project management services, including project planning, risk, contract and cost management
. Execute consulting engagements, which include coordinating with cross-discipline teams to develop bespoke solutions for clients
. Support senior team members to identify and pitch for projects across Southeast Asia
. Assist in building relationships with both internal and external clients and stakeholders
. Help deliver for effective project management during project delivery phases
. Participate in knowledge sharing and supporting the development of other team members

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

. Relevant engineering/technical degree or equivalent
. Has technical background in at least one of the following low carbon energy solutions: solar PV, wind (onshore and offshore), energy storage in APAC
. 3 - 5 years post-qualification experience in the development and execution of low carbon and renewable energy projects, with a strong technical/engineering involvement
. A solid track record of delivering technical M&A and pre-lend due diligence studies for financial investors and/or banks, and a robust understanding of how technical risks can impact the commercial drivers of a deal
. Experience of undertaking feasibilities for onshore and offshore wind, solar, energy storage projects
. Proven working knowledge of relevant energy assessment software, including PVSyst, Windpro and Homer Pro
. Working knowledge of power system tools, including PSS/E, Power Factory or PSCAD would be an added advantage
. Experience of working with clients and assisting business development
. Developing a Professional qualification in a recognised institution in the field of engineering is desirable
. Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines - and Arup's related procedures including OH&S
