This role is ideal for a flexible and adaptable teacher who can quickly step into an existing programme and provide continuity for our students during a temporary staff absence.

Role and responsibilities

We are seeking a flexible and enthusiastic Relief Music Teacher to temporarily cover a period of sick leave. In this role, you will teach engaging music lessons to students from Early Years through Primary School (18 months - 12 years), ensuring continuity in our music programme.

Working within the IEYC and IPC frameworks, you will deliver age-appropriate and inspiring music lessons while collaborating with the Academic Lead and teaching teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering engaging music lessons for students aged 18 months to 12 years
• Supporting the existing music curriculum in line with the IEYC/IPC framework
• Assessing students musical development and providing constructive feedback where appropriate
• Maintaining a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
• Encouraging creativity and a love of music among students
• Supporting school music activities or performances where relevant during the cover period

You have

• A teaching qualification in Music Education or a related field
• Experience in teaching students from 18 months to 12 years old
• Knowledge of the International Primary Curriculum (IEYC/IPC) is preferred
• Highly proficient English speaking skills, native speaker is preferred
• The ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Excellent social and communication skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including the ability to engage in safe practices and undergo necessary checks
• A willingness to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment, promoting equity and respect for all students and staff
