KKEC Pvt Ltd is an established company specializing in medium-voltage electrical systems, protection relays, and substation services, working with OEMs such as Schneider Electric and GE Vernova.

Job Summary

The Relay Testing Engineer will be responsible for protection relay testing, commissioning, fault analysis, and troubleshooting across electrical infrastructure projects in India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and commissioning of protection relays, including numerical and conventional relays.
  • Conduct secondary injection testing using Omicron, Megger, or equivalent testing kits.
  • Perform primary injection testing and end-to-end scheme validation.
  • Work with Overcurrent & Earth Fault (OC/EF) protection.
  • Handle Transformer Differential, Feeder & Line, and Distance Protection schemes.
  • Verify relay settings and protection coordination.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot relay/system faults at project sites.
  • Prepare commissioning reports, test reports, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, OEM engineers, and internal execution teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–6 years of experience in relay testing and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of power system protection.
  • Hands-on experience with Omicron CMC and Megger relay testing kits.
  • Experience with protection relays from Schneider Electric and GE Vernova.
  • Siemens relay experience is preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Substation experience: 11kV to 220kV or above.
  • Exposure to SCADA / RTU / automation systems.
  • Knowledge of IEC standards related to protection and testing.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India.
