A leader in maritime shipping company is currently expanding and looking for highly qualified candidates for the Regional Stowage Manager position based in Singapore.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and distribute vessel stowage guidelines and operational updates to planning teams across the network on a timely basis.
- Work closely with vessel planning teams to optimize crane utilization and cargo operations, enabling faster vessel turn around at ports.
- Drive continuous improvements in stowage practices to reduce cargo rehandling and enhance operational efficiency.
- Validate vessel load plans against stability parameters and cargo allocation requirements to ensure safe and effective vessel utilization.
- Ensure planners receive accurate and up-to-date planning data files required for vessel stowage preparation.
- Maintain and enhance stowage planning procedures, documentation, and system-related processes while coordinating with software vendors on upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Administer and track planning system licenses, ensuring operational teams have the necessary access and support.
- Monitor the performance of planning offices through KPI tracking, providing guidance, coaching, and recommendations for operational improvements.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing fuel consumption and improving vessel productivity through collaboration with ports, terminals, and operational stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities to improve planning and terminal performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Transportation, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience within the vessel operations, or maritime logistics industry.
- Hands-on vessel planning experience for large vessels.
- Familiarity with vessel stowage planning systems and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Demonstrated project coordination or project management experience, preferably in operational improvement or capacity optimization initiatives.
