Job Description

Our client is a leading international insurer with a strong presence across Asia, seeking an experienced Senior Health Pricing Actuary to join its regional actuarial team. This is a high-impact role supporting the pricing and development of health insurance solutions across multiple markets while partnering with country teams and senior stakeholders to drive profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pricing and profitability assessment of individual and group health insurance products across multiple Asian markets.
  • Develop and maintain pricing methodologies, assumptions, and actuarial models for new products, product enhancements, and portfolio reviews.
  • Partner with local business units to provide pricing support, strategic recommendations, and commercial insights.
  • Monitor product performance, emerging claims experience, and pricing adequacy, recommending corrective actions where required.
  • Conduct experience investigations and analyse claims trends, medical inflation, utilisation patterns, and portfolio performance.
  • Support product governance, pricing committee papers, and obtain internal approvals for new initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriting, product development, finance, reinsurance, and distribution teams on strategic projects.
  • Work with regional leadership to identify growth opportunities, improve pricing frameworks, and enhance actuarial capabilities across markets.
  • Ensure pricing practices comply with internal governance standards and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Qualified or near-qualified actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA, FIA, or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience, with a strong focus on health insurance pricing.
  • Regional pricing experience across Asia is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance products, claims dynamics, medical underwriting, and healthcare trends.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
