Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead the financial management of a regional property development portfolio, with a focus on Asia Pacificand joint-venture structures. This role combines strategic oversight, hands-on finance management, and collaboration with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to drive strong financial performance and governance.
The position offers exposure to multiple markets, development projects, and real estate private funds, providing the opportunity to influence key commercial, operational, and investment decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesPortfolio Performance
- Oversee financial outcomes for residential and mixed-use development projects across Southeast Asia, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Shape annual plans, forecasts, project evaluations, and performance reviews.
- Provide management with clear, actionable insights to guide business and investment decisions.
Commercial & Operational Insight
- Partner with project teams on pricing strategy, sales tracking, cost monitoring, and overall project viability.
- Identify risks and opportunities across projects and recommend corrective actions to optimize returns.
Joint Venture & Partnership Governance
- Manage financial matters across joint-venture partnerships, ensuring clarity on reporting obligations, governance, and partner alignment.
- Represent the organisation in partner discussions, maintaining strong relationships and protecting financial interests.
- Support joint-venture structuring and fund management activities where applicable.
Real Estate Private Funds
- Collaborate with private fund teams on investment reporting, fund performance, and portfolio oversight.
- Support the preparation of investor reporting and financial disclosures for fund-backed development projects.
- Assist with capital planning, funding strategies, and alignment between fund investors and project operations.
Financing & Treasury Interface
- Support financing activities for development projects in collaboration with JV and fund teams.
- Maintain compliance with treasury policies, loan covenants, and investor requirements.
- Prepare financing submissions and assist with capital structure planning.
Leadership & Team Development
- Guide and develop finance professionals across the region.
- Promote strong internal controls, collaborative ways of working, and analytical excellence.
- Provide guidance on complex operational, cross-border, and fund-related matters.
Strategic Support
- Contribute to reviews of potential investments, asset disposals, and other corporate initiatives.
- Lead special analyses or ad-hoc assignments as required, particularly for fund-backed residential developments.
What You Need to Succeed- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent; professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA) preferred.
- 1015+ years of relevant experience, ideally with exposure toreal estate development in APAC, joint-venture structures, and real estate private funds.
- Proven ability to operate across multiple markets in a regional setting.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural, matrix environment and navigate ambiguity.
- Demonstrated leadership with a focus on coaching, team growth, and cross-market collaboration.
- Experience in investor reporting, fund governance, and fund-backed development projects is highly desirable.
