Job Summary
Lead ocean freight pricing and market analysis initiatives to optimize trade lane growth and carrier relationships across Southeast Asia, supporting LG/LX group and multinational accounts with strategic negotiation and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Analyze ocean freight market trends and provide actionable insights to sales teams to enhance competitive positioning
- Facilitate clear and timely communication with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and operational efficiency
- Drive growth in targeted Trade Lanes by identifying opportunities and implementing strategic initiatives
- Monitor and report on price movements within the Asian ocean freight market to inform pricing strategies
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with multiple ocean carriers to secure favorable terms and service levels
- Negotiate ocean freight rates for Intra-Asia and global export trades, managing volume agreements with carriers headquarters, regional headquarters, and local offices for LG/LX group and multinational accounts
- Lead and manage the performance of local pricing staff across Southeast Asian countries to achieve team and business objectives
- Execute ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by leadership to support business priorities
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in ocean freight within international freight forwarding, 3PL, or ocean container liner industries
- Proven negotiation skills to maximize rate competitiveness and secure advantageous contracts
- Experience managing ocean freight products for Intra-Asia and export trades from Asia
- Ability to analyze ocean liner market information to support strategic decision-making
