Our client is a global engineering and solutions provider supporting asset modernisation and efficiency improvement initiatives across the marine and energy sectors. They are seeking a Sales Manager to drive the development and closure of complex upgrade and enhancement projects for existing assets.
Key Responsibilitie
- Identify and engage fleet owners, operators, and asset owners with requirements for equipment upgrades, system enhancements, or efficiency improvement solutions.
- Develop and promote upgrade concepts aligned with regulatory developments, operational efficiency goals, and long-term sustainability strategies.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through direct customer engagement, industry events, and professional networks.
- Work closely with engineering and technical specialists to develop customised upgrade scopes and solution concepts.
- Review asset specifications, system configurations, and operating profiles to assess technical feasibility and commercial viability.
- Lead technical-commercial discussions to align solution scope, performance expectations, and commercial structure.
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, including pricing, cost assumptions, delivery timelines, and risk considerations.
- Lead contract negotiations in line with internal commercial guidelines and financial objectives.
- Coordinate internal approvals and ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and export control requirements.
- Act as the primary customer interface during the pre-award phase, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.
- Develop long-term customer relationships to support repeat business and reference opportunities.
- Monitor market developments, customer investment priorities, and competitor activity within the upgrade and modernisation space.
- Support structured handover to project execution teams following contract award to ensure delivery alignment.
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure clarity on scope, costs, and commercial terms.
Technical & Commercial Understanding
- Working knowledge of large mechanical systems, engine-based assets, or industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with regulatory-driven upgrade programs, emissions-related solutions, or efficiency improvement projects is advantageous.
- Strong capability in proposal development, business case articulation, and cross-functional coordination.
Requirement
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine, energy, or industrial sales, with exposure to technically complex or project-based solutions.
- Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and customised solutions.
- Experience engaging customers on asset improvement, system upgrades, or performance enhancement initiatives.
