Regional Director, Sales Transaction Banking Solutions (JAPAC)

Driving Enterprise Transaction Banking Software & Platform Sales and Cloud Innovation Across Japan, ASEAN & APAC

Our client is a global FinTech leader providing mission-critical Transaction Banking Software and Platforms to financial institutions worldwide. Their modular, API-enabled technology supports end-to-end workflows across documentary trade, guarantees, collections, and supply chain finance and is trusted by Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks around the world.

As part of continued JAPAC expansion, we are seeking a high-impact Regional Sales Director to drive large enterprise transformation deals, especially within Japan's megabanks, while also scaling adoption of the client's next-generation cloud-based transaction banking collaboration capabilities, designed to enhance and modernise traditional on-premise systems.

Base Location: Singapore

Travel: Extensive across JAPAC with strong ASEAN and Japan focus

Languages: English + Professional Japanese preferred

Reports to: Global Commercial Leadership

Work Authorization: Work permit sponsorship supported

This is a senior, strategic role shaping the digitalisation of transaction banking across one of the world's most important banking regions. The successful candidate will:

  • Engage at the highest levels within Japanese and APAC financial institutions
  • Play a key role in accelerating the client's growth and market share across JAPAC

This opportunity is ideal for a respected, well-connected enterprise sales leader in Transaction Banking.

What You Will Do

  • Own and drive the full commercial lifecycle across JAPAC: pipeline generation, qualification, pursuit strategy, negotiations, and closing
  • Lead major on-premise transaction banking solution sales, with a strong emphasis on trade finance, into Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks
  • Promote and expand adoption of cloud-based transaction banking collaboration modules that complement existing core systems and enhance workflow automation
  • Build trusted relationships with C-suite, GM-level, and senior operations/IT stakeholders across the region
  • Develop and execute structured regional go-to-market plans aligned with JAPAC priorities
  • Drive strategic pursuits within Japanese megabanks (Red / Blue / Green groups)
  • Partner with Product, Presales, Delivery, and Marketing teams to craft compelling proposals and solution strategies
  • Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline governance, and regular executive reporting

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of enterprise Transaction Banking solution sales; at least 5+ years of experience in Trade Finance Solutions strongly preferred
  • Strong experience selling on-premise enterprise banking systems with complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles
  • Proven ability to introduce and sell cloud or SaaS-based transaction banking components that complement legacy systems
  • Deep domain understanding of transaction banking workflows, including:

o Documentary and guarantee-based instruments

o Structured and open-account trade-related solutions

o End-to-end transaction operations (front, middle, and back office)

o Regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and SWIFT/ISO messaging

  • Established, senior-level network within Japanese megabanks (Red / Blue / Green groups) as well as main stream Singapore banks
  • Demonstrated experience closing large enterprise deals (USD 15M+)
  • Strong understanding of enterprise procurement, RFP cycles, InfoSec reviews, and technical evaluation processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a global matrix environment
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, primarily to Japan

Surecomp, China Systems, Finastra, CGI, Intellect Design Arena, Nucleus Software, TCS BaNCS, OFSS / Oracle Financial Services Software, Infosys Finacle, Temenos, FIS, Fiserv, Sopra Banking Software, Kyriba, Bottomline, SAP, Loxon Solutions, BML Istisharat, MonetaGo, TradeSun, LiquidX, Bolero, NTT Data, Nomura Research Institute (NRI), Hitachi Consulting, Fujitsu, Accenture, Deloitte, EY, PwC, or similar organisations.
