A leading international financial institution is undergoing a major regional technology transformation programme across Asia Pacific and is looking for an experienced IT Procurement professional to establish and drive its regional sourcing function.
This is a rare opportunity to build procurement processes, governance frameworks, and sourcing strategies from the ground up within a highly visible transformation environment.
The role will work closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Legal, Finance, and regional business teams to support strategic sourcing initiatives, vendor optimisation, and procurement governance across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and establish the regional IT procurement and sourcing function across APAC
- Develop procurement policies, workflows, governance standards, and operating procedures
- Lead sourcing activities for strategic technology transformation initiatives
- Drive vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management for software, infrastructure, cloud, and IT services
- Partner with technology teams to standardise IT products and preferred vendor strategies
- Conduct spend analysis and identify cost optimisation opportunities across technology categories
- Manage RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, vendor evaluations, and supplier due diligence
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance, audit, and risk requirements
- Monitor supplier performance, SLAs, and vendor delivery standards
- Support long-term procurement transformation and continuous process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 10+ years of proven experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or technology vendor management
- Strong background in setting up procurement processes, governance frameworks, or transformation initiatives
- Experience managing sourcing across software, cloud, infrastructure, and IT services categories
- Strong commercial negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced regional environment with cross-functional teams
- Banking or financial services experience is advantageous but not essential
- Candidates from consulting, technology, telecom, or large multinational environments are also encouraged to apply
