Regional IT PMO Lead (APAC)

Our client is an established European manufacturing MNC, seeking for a dynamic Regional IT PMO Lead to join the IT team

Position Overview

A mid-level Regional SAP & IT Operations Specialist with strong SAP functional knowledge and solid IT infrastructure/operations experience. This role provides SAP project coordination, SAP support, and regional IT operations support across APAC subsidiaries. The candidate will work closely with central SAP teams, local users, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and stable IT operations. The ideal candidate has above 8 years of experience and is comfortable handling both SAP-related tasks and general IT operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

A. SAP Project Coordination (Primary Focus During Rollout)

.Act as the APAC coordinator for SAP-related initiatives.

.Track tasks, milestones, UAT activities, cutover plans, and central IT deliverables.

.Manage RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions).

.Coordinate UAT planning and execution with APAC business units.

.Liaise with central SAP teams and challenge unclear explanations when necessary.

.Prepare project documentation, meeting notes, and status reports.
B. SAP Functional Support

.Provide 1st/2nd-level SAP functional support (FI/CO, MM, SD, or PP depending on experience).

.Assist users with issue clarification and escalate appropriately to central teams.

.Support data validation, testing cycles, and functional review of changes.

.Understand SAP business processes well enough to validate proposed solutions.

C. Regional IT Operations Support

.Act as the regional IT coordinator for APAC subsidiaries and support day-to-day IT operations across APAC:

o end-user computing

o basic network/server coordination

o identity/access management

o patching and compliance follow-up

o endpoint security

.Coordinate in IT projects, migrations, and system upgrades within the region.

.Maintain asset inventory, documentation, and operational procedures.

D. Infrastructure & Security Coordination

.Assist with IT security policies, compliance checks, and internal/external audits.

.Support infrastructure activities such as backups, monitoring, and DR testing.

.Work with global IT teams on infrastructure upgrades, improvements, and standards.

E. Stakeholder & Communication Management

.Work closely with local business users and APAC managers to understand IT and SAP requirements.

.Conduct user briefings, training coordination, and project communication.

.Manage multi-country communication and follow-ups.

Qualifications and Skills

.Bachelor's or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

.At least 8 years of SAP/IT experience.

.Hands-on SAP functional exposure (ECC or S/4) in FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, or related modules.

.Experience supporting SAP project tasks such as UAT, testing, data validation, or rollout support.

.Strong ability to track tasks, manage project documentation, and drive follow-up.

.Solid understanding of IT operations (network basics, server fundamentals, AD, security).

.Strong vendor coordination experience.

.Excellent communication skills confident dealing with global teams and consultants.

Preferred Attributes

.Experience working with a central/global SAP team.

.Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or finance environments.

.ITIL Foundation or project management certifications.
