Job Summary
The Regional Industrial Projects Director, Southeast Asia, leads commercial growth, operational delivery, and financial performance of Industrial Projects. This role manages complex cargo movements, drives sector growth, and builds a high-performing team with full P&L accountability.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the regional Industrial Projects strategy aligned with global goals to drive business growth
- Identify and secure complex project logistics opportunities with EPC contractors, project owners, and industrial clients
- Lead RFQs, tenders, and solution-based sales to win large-scale projects across energy, mining, infrastructure, and renewables sectors
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline targeting key verticals and establish strategic partnerships to expand market presence
- Design end-to-end project logistics solutions, including multimodal transport strategies, ensuring technical feasibility through route surveys, load engineering, and risk assessments
- Collaborate with engineering teams and specialised vendors to plan lifting, transport, and installation activities
- Review and approve complex technical and commercial proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements
- Oversee execution of complex project cargo movements, including heavy-lift, oversized, breakbulk, and charter shipments, with milestone-driven delivery schedules
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet client expectations by managing subcontractors, carriers, and specialised vendors
- Drive risk mitigation, safety compliance, and operational excellence throughout project execution
- Own full regional P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin performance, pricing strategy development, financial forecasting, and cost control
- Enhance profitability through effective procurement and vendor management
- Serve as senior point of contact for key clients, EPCs, strategic partners, and regulatory bodies, including port authorities and customs agencies
- Represent the company in client engagements, industry forums, and commercial negotiations to strengthen relationships and market position
- Build and lead a high-performing team across commercial, operations, and engineering functions by establishing SOPs, governance frameworks, and best practices
- Mentor and develop internal talent, including project managers and analysts, to foster continuous improvement in execution quality, safety, and customer experience
- Operate effectively in high-pressure, dynamic project environments with strategic thinking and hands-on execution capability
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- Minimum 15 years experience in project logistics, project cargo, or heavy-lift forwarding with proven management of large-scale, complex logistics projects
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management within the EPC or industrial sectors
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Additional technical or engineering certifications advantageous
