Make your mark within the APAC Regional Finance Team

Be part of the core team of APAC Regional FP&A team at AIG to support the various Regional FP&A deliverables. The key role would be to support the various Regional FP&A deliverables by engaging with various country FP&A leads and Regional Product leads to support analysis of Financials and management reporting for the region.

This is a key position within the APAC Regional FP&A, reporting to the Regional Head of FP&A, APAC and actively partners with Country FP&A Leads and APAC product business leaders to help deliver the Regional FP&A deliverables. This role will work closely with the Regional FP&A lead to support various monthly/quarterly deliverables including Forecasting, Budgeting and Management reporting. This position will also help provide required information and insight, often on an ad-hoc basis, to different levels of APAC Leadership (local-regional-global) in support of tactical and strategic decisions that drive profitable growth.

How you will create an impact

  • In partnership with APAC FP&A lead, drive budgeting, forecasting and management reporting exercise for APAC Region and help drive management reviews and related discussions
  • Review quarterly close activities and engage as necessary with Country FP&A leads, APAC country controllership team, Regional Product Leads and International & Global FP&A teams
  • Assist and play a key role in supporting the delivery of various Monthly Business Reviews and Quarterly Business review activity for the APAC Region and APAC Leadership Team
  • Assist in the preparation of various internal and external presentations including Quarter close, Quarterly business reviews, Strategic Planning and Budget related reviews
  • Assist in various ad hoc reporting requirements for the region requested by internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide proactive Finance Business Partnering and other relevant support required by the Regional Product leads on time-to-time basis
  • Support the Three-Year Strategy planning framework and associated engagement with Regional Product teams and Country teams as part of the Annual Three-Year Planning exercise
  • Provide analytical support to deliver required information and insight, often on an ad-hoc basis, to various product teams in support of tactical and strategic decisions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working in a Finance department of a large regional or MNC
  • Experience working in a financial services firm, preferably in Insurance Underwriting reporting and analysis
  • Excellent understanding of key financial drivers for the Insurance industry
  • Hands-on experience supporting finance department activities including Month-end close, Budgeting, Management reporting
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with Strong analytical and process orientation with the ability to define and validate as-is processes as well as to design to-be processes
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong listening skills to understand management and internal needs
  • Ability to adapt easily to change
  • Ability to handle multiple initiatives with competing interests for time and evolving priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with project teams, business and senior executives as part of regional team
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams with track record of success in delivering Process Re-design and change management within an organization preferred
  • Strong knowledge of data systems with ability to handle large data
  • Manage stakeholders including International Finance teams, APAC Finance teams, APAC Regional office stakeholders and senior executives including Country CFO and FP&A lead across various APAC country operations
  • Accounting or Finance degree is required. Advanced Degree (CFA/CA,MBA or equivalent) Preferred
  • +8 to 10 or more years of experience in finance or business analysis
  • Experience in the Insurance industry (especially GI) and knowledge of financial services required
  • Experience in the areas of strategic planning, budgeting, reporting and profitability analysis
  • Highly analytical, forward thinking, with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Clear and effective written and oral communications
