Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Region Finance Representative to be based in Singapore. This role will serve as the Headquarters on-site finance and internal control representative, supporting the Singapore entity while overseeing finance-related matters for the Malaysia subsidiary, with future regional expansion to other Southeast Asian markets.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective financial governance, regulatory compliance, and operational transparency while acting as the primary liaison between Headquarters and regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
Represent Headquarters in overseeing the daily financial operations and internal controls of the Singapore entity and the Malaysia subsidiary.
Act as the communication bridge between Headquarters and regional offices by communicating corporate policies, procedures, and management directives while providing timely updates on financial performance, operational matters, and business risks.
Implement and monitor local financial policies and internal control procedures in compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements and Headquarters policies.
Review financial documents including contracts, invoices, expense claims, payment requests, and supporting documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, compliance, and proper approval before submission through the company's workflow system.
Prepare and issue GST Tax Invoices and Commercial Invoices in accordance with Singapore regulatory requirements and company policies.
Review sales and financial data, monitor accounts receivable and collection status, identify overdue accounts, and support collection activities.
Prepare sales commission, incentive, and performance calculation reports in accordance with company policies.
Coordinate with external parties including auditors, tax agents, company secretary, banks, and government authorities on statutory filings, tax matters, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Support statutory reporting, annual audits, tax filing, and corporate compliance activities for both Singapore and Malaysia.
Monitor the finance-related progress of the Malaysia subsidiary and support business expansion initiatives where required.
Assist with finance, operations, administration, human resource, and other ad hoc assignments as assigned by Headquarters.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
ACCA, CPA Singapore, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification will be an advantage.
Minimum 8 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
At least 5 years of hands-on finance experience in Singapore.
Experience in regional finance, financial control, or internal audit will be an advantage.
Experience in the payment services, fintech, or financial services industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Malaysia's financial and tax compliance requirements will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of Singapore accounting practices and statutory compliance.
Familiarity with Singapore Corporate Income Tax, GST, IRAS requirements, ACRA statutory compliance, corporate banking operations, foreign exchange transactions, and regulatory reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Kingdee, UFIDA, or similar systems will be an advantage.
