The Regional Engineering Account Manager is the senior technical and operational leader responsible for the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of engineering services across a multi-site portfolio of laboratories, R&D facilities, and cleanroom environments. Acting as the primary engineering authority and strategic partner to the client, this role ensures consistent technical standards, regulatory compliance, reliability of critical systems, and high-quality service delivery across all locations. The role combines deep engineering expertise with strong leadership, client engagement, and multi-site governance.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Technical Leadership & Team Management
.Provide technical leadership and direction to site-based engineering managers, facilities engineers, and specialist technical teams across multiple locations
.Act as the senior engineering escalation point for complex technical issues related to laboratories, cleanrooms, and controlled environments
.Develop engineering capability through mentoring, training programs, technical competency frameworks, and succession planning
.Align regional engineering teams around consistent standards, procedures, and performance expectations
Engineering Account Ownership & Client Partnership
.Own the engineering account at a regional level, ensuring delivery of contracted services in line with client requirements and regulatory obligations
.Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders including R&D leaders, lab managers, quality, and EHS teams
.Translate client scientific and R&D requirements into effective engineering and facilities solutions
.Lead technical governance forums, performance reviews, and strategic planning sessions with the client
Technical Oversight of Laboratories, R&D & Cleanrooms
.Provide oversight for engineering systems supporting laboratories, pilot plants, and cleanroom facilities
.Ensure precise control and reliability of environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, airflow, and contamination control
.Oversee engineering support for laboratory utilities and systems such as:
oHVAC and cleanroom air handling systems
oHigh-purity water and laboratory-grade utilities
oProcess and specialty gases
oChemical storage, distribution, and waste systems
oExhaust, fume hood, and abatement systems
.Support equipment installation, hook-up, commissioning, and operational readiness for laboratory and R&D equipment
Reliability, Compliance & Risk Management
.Ensure engineering systems comply with applicable regulations, standards, and internal quality systems
.Oversee validation, qualification, and requalification of cleanrooms, laboratories, and critical utilities
.Lead risk assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for system failures or environmental excursions
.Ensure audit readiness and support regulatory inspections across all sites
Multi-Site Governance & Standardization
.Establish and maintain consistent engineering standards, SOPs, and maintenance strategies across the regional portfolio
.Drive harmonization of asset management, CMMS usage, and reliability practices
.Share best practices and technical solutions across sites to improve performance and reduce risk
Financial & Commercial Management
.Manage regional engineering budgets, including labour, subcontractors, and specialist service providers
.Monitor contract performance against KPIs, SLAs, and technical performance metrics
.Identify opportunities for value engineering, lifecycle optimization, and cost efficiency without compromising compliance or performance
Projects, Upgrades & Change Management
.Provide regional oversight of capital projects, facility upgrades, and technology changes affecting laboratories and cleanrooms
.Coordinate engineering resources across sites to support major installations and complex change activities
.Ensure robust change control, commissioning, and handover processes
Continuous Improvement & Strategic Development
.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, energy efficiency, and sustainability
.Support the client's long-term R&D and laboratory growth strategy by ensuring engineering infrastructure is scalable and future-ready
.Contribute to regional and corporate engineering strategy and technical roadmaps
Qualifications & Experience
.Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Facilities, or related discipline)
.Significant experience supporting laboratory-intensive, R&D, cleanroom, or controlled-environment facilities across multiple sites
.Proven experience in engineering account management or senior technical leadership roles
.Strong background in regulated, safety-critical, or highly controlled environments
