Regional Buyer
This role drives strategic sourcing for power systems operations, ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services. You will partner with engineering, project, and operations teams to secure supply readiness, manage supplier performance, and optimise cost. The position focuses on negotiation, supplier development, and risk management to support complex projects and achieve business growth objectives and drive long-term value.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project requirements and business goals.
- Conduct supplier market analysis to identify cost savings, innovation opportunities, and sourcing risks.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, contracts, and long‑term agreements.
- Manage RFI/RFQ/RFP processes for project‑related procurement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, project, operations) to align procurement with project timelines and specifications.
- Build, qualify, and maintain a reliable supplier network to support project delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in delivery, cost, and service levels.
- Identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives across the procurement lifecycle.
- Manage sourcing risks, ensure compliance with internal policies, and monitor market trends.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement within a project‑based and technical environment.
- Experience sourcing key components such as radiators, switchgear, and control panels in the Asia Pacific region.
- Strong experience in supplier development, negotiation, and capacity planning.
- Good understanding of cost analysis, value engineering, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured approach.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across cross‑functional and international teams.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel within the Asia Pacific region.
