Overview

As Mediacorp continues its regional growth journey, we are seeking a commercially driven business development professional to accelerate client acquisition and pipeline development across Southeast Asia and selected international markets.

Flagship brands such as CNA have established a strong global footprint, reaching more than 180 million households across Asia, Europe, and the United States through award-winning journalism and original content.

This role will focus on identifying, prospecting, and opening new commercial opportunities with regional advertisers, agencies, and partners. The successful candidate will act as the front line of market engagement, generating demand and creating qualified opportunities that can be converted into long-term commercial partnerships.

The role is best suited to an energetic hunter who enjoys building relationships, opening doors, and creating new business opportunities.

You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, uncovering opportunities, and generating market momentum. Success in this role will be measured by the quality and volume of opportunities created, pipeline development, and contribution to new revenue growth.

Most importantly, you will be a strong ambassador for the CNA and Mediacorp brands, capable of building credibility and trust with clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development & Prospecting
    • Identify and prospect new regional advertisers, agencies, and commercial partners across priority markets.
    • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, events, referrals, and market engagement.
    • Secure meetings and introductions with key decision-makers across client and agency organisations.
    • Develop and execute account penetration strategies to increase engagement with target organisations.
    • Generate new leads and opportunities for CNA and Mediacorp's content, digital, TV, social, and integrated solutions.
Client Acquisition

  • Introduce and position Mediacorp and CNA's commercial capabilities to prospective clients.
  • Qualify opportunities and identify client needs, business objectives, and potential revenue streams.
  • Work closely with internal Solutions, Strategy, Content, and Commercial teams to translate opportunities into proposals and pitches.
  • Support new business pitches and presentations where required.
  • Drive momentum throughout the sales cycle until opportunities are successfully handed over or converted.

Market Intelligence

  • Gather market intelligence on competitors, emerging sectors, client priorities, and agency developments.
  • Identify new categories and growth opportunities for Mediacorp's regional business.
  • Provide regular feedback on market trends and client needs to support future product and go-to-market development.

Relationship Building

  • Establish strong working relationships with regional agencies, clients, and ecosystem partners.

Build awareness of CNA and Mediacorp's regional capabilities across key markets.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or client acquisition roles in Malaysia, Indonesia and other SEA markets.
  • Strong prospecting and lead generation experience.
  • Demonstrated success opening new accounts and creating revenue opportunities.
  • Experience within media, advertising, digital platforms, publishing, content, marketing, or related industries preferred.
  • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with high levels of resilience, energy, and commercial drive.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Experience working across Southeast Asia or regional markets is essential.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the region.
