1.Conduct in-depth research across core marketsincluding India, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysiato understand the payment behaviors, decision-making logic, and pain points of Alibaba.com's international buyers in cross-border transactions, covering payments, foreign exchange settlement, fund disbursement, and installment solutions. Deliver high-value, localized buyer insights.
2.Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key local financial institutions and payment ecosystem players, including central banks, commercial banks, local e-wallets (e.g., GCash, DANA, PayMaya, Jenius), card networks, payment gateways, and clearing institutionsto drive buyer-side payment capability integration and optimize user experience.
3.Continuously monitor and interpret regulatory developments in target markets related to cross-border payments, foreign exchange controls, anti-money laundering (AML), data compliance, consumer protection, and 3D Secure requirements (e.g., guidelines from India's RBI, Bank Indonesia's new rules, BSP regulations in the Philippines, State Bank of Vietnam directives, and BNM policies in Malaysia). Collaborate closely with compliance, product, and legal teams to ensure compliant and efficient implementation of buyer payment solutions.
4.Support the expansion of localized payout and fund settlement networks in these markets, focusing on buyer-side local disbursement channels (e.g., bank accounts, e-wallets), settlement speed, refund mechanisms, and dispute resolution experienceenhancing fund accessibility and trust.
5.Work closely with frontline BD, industry operations, product, and risk teams to translate buyer insights into actionable recommendations for product enhancements, payment routing optimizations, and operational strategiessignificantly improving payment success rates, settlement efficiency, and buyer retention.
6.Regularly produce analytical reports on regional buyer behavior trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory impacts to inform global payment and settlement strategy, product localization, and market entry decisions.
1.Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, International Trade, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
2.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with one or more of the following backgrounds:
1Regional buyer operations, cross-border payment product management, localization projects, or merchant services at an internet or cross-border e-commerce platform;
2Proven work experience or successful project delivery in at least one of the following markets: India, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, or Malaysia;
3Deep collaboration experience with local central banks, financial regulators, commercial banks, leading payment gateways, or local e-wallet providers.
3.Strong familiarity with mainstream buyer payment methods across these five countries (e.g., UPI, IMPS, Bank Transfer, GCash, DANA, OVO, Jenius, PayMaya, MoMo, DuitNow), cross-border fund flow regulations, foreign exchange restrictions, and consumer payment preferences.
4.Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and willingness to travel frequently across key South and Southeast Asian countries.
5.Fluent in English; proficiency in any local language (e.g., Hindi, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Malay) is a strong plus.
6.Highly results-driven, self-motivated, and adept at solving problems and driving execution in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
