Job Description

We are seeking a high-performing and experienced Refined Products Trading Manager to join our trading team in Singapore office. The successful candidate will play key role in performing trading focusing on various refined products (gasoline, jet fuel & diesel etc) and managing own trading book. This role requires strong market knowledge, robust trading acumen, and good communications skills to liaise with headquarters and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Trading Execution & Profit Maximization

  • Independently manage and grow the refined oil products trading book to achieve targeted profitability.
  • Conduct both physical and paper trading to optimize margins and manage exposure.
  • Actively manage price positions, hedging strategies, and daily P&L reporting.
  • Identify and capture regional arbitrage opportunities across gasoline, diesel, and other refined oil products.
  • Coordinate closely with China refineries, domestic trading teams, and related entities to optimize supply, blending, and export opportunities.
  • Work with the Logistics, Chartering, and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of cargoes.

2. Market Development & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, including refineries, trading houses, oil majors, and independent blenders.
  • Possess solid third-party trading experience, including structuring and managing cross-border transactions.
  • Participate in tenders, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Identify and develop new business channels and trading opportunities aligned with company strategy.

3. Market Analysis & Strategy

  • Conduct fundamental and pricing analysis on the various refined oil products markets to support trading decisions.
  • Provide market outlooks, price forecasts, and trading recommendations based on sound market intelligence.
  • Contribute to the company's overall trading strategy through insights and tactical discussions.

4. Compliance & Risk Control

  • Ensure adherence to all internal trading policies, code of conduct, control frameworks, and ship vetting requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable external regulations and reporting obligations.
  • Maintain accurate trade records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

5. Collaboration & Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams across Trading, Operations, Chartering, Risk Control, and Finance to ensure seamless transaction flow.
  • Support management in the evaluation of new markets, products, or trade flows relevant to the various refined oil products portfolio.

6. Business Growth & Innovation

  • Proactively seek ways to grow and diversify the refined oil products trading business in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Explore opportunities in blending, storage optimization, and logistics efficiency to enhance margins.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 812 years of experience in refined oil product trading, with a focus on gasoline, jet fuel and/or diesel.
  • Proven experience in third-party trading and managing own trading book independently.
  • Strong knowledge of Asian refining systems, especially coordination with China refineries.
  • Demonstrated track record of profitability, commercial acumen, and risk awareness.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of international trading compliance, contracts, and logistics operations.
  • Mandarin proficiency and/or additional language skills will be an advantage in supporting commercial activities.
