Job Scope: Planning Manager
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Developing comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Creating detailed schedules and coordinating various construction activities.
- Identifying potential delays and developing mitigation strategies.
- Establishing project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Change Management:
- Overseeing change orders and assessing impact to completion milestone dates.
- Assist and support all claims for extension of time.
Resource Management:
- Allocating resources effectively, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinating the work of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assessing and reviewing adequate staffing levels and skill sets are available for each phase of the project.
Risk Management:
- Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Conducting regular site inspections to assess progress and identify potential issues.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Communication and Coordination:
- Maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns or issues.
- Facilitating project meetings and ensuring alignment among team members.
Project Closeout:
- Overseeing the completion of all project activities and ensuring all extensions of time claims are accounted for.
- Managing the final documentation, including as-built drawings and project records.
- Conducting a post-project review to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- Shall have at least 8 years of work experience in the built industry and:
- Completed at least 3 building/infrastructure projects
- Completed at least 1 reclamation project
- Experience in internships and project work will be considered.
- Good knowledge of construction methodologies and construction sequencing.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders from local and overseas.
- Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, to understand, handle and resolve issues.
- A proactive, user-oriented and curious mindset, with a desire to engage in continuous learning and improvement.
