Job Description

About the Role

Our Client, a secondary school in Jurong West, is looking for a professional and people-oriented Receptionist to be the first point of contact for the school's General Office. This is a contract role well-suited to candidates with a warm disposition and strong administrative experience in a school or customer-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support including reception duties for the smooth and effective operation of the school's General Office
  • Handle phone calls, walk-ins, and general enquiries from parents, students, and members of the public
  • Provide first-level assistance to walk-in students, including those who are sick or injured, and escalate serious cases or those requiring professional medical care to colleagues in the office immediately
  • Relay parents messages and concerns from phone calls or walk-in visits to the relevant teachers
  • Manage office stock of stationery, pantry items, and first aid supplies, ensuring forms are current and replenished in a timely manner
  • Maintain tidiness of the reception area at all times
  • Prepare correspondence and documents
  • Receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • Assist in the counting and sorting or distribution of brochures, leaflets, or items to teachers and students
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the school

Requirements

  • Minimum GCE O Level (preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in front office operations, admin support, school/logistics environment
  • Relevant reception or customer service experience preferred
  • Prior work experience with students in a school environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Pleasant disposition and people-oriented personality
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Working Hours (Option 1)

  • Mon/ Tue / Thu / Fri: 7:00am - 4:30pm (inclusive of 1-hr lunch break)
  • Wed: 7:00am - 4:00pm (inclusive of 1-hr lunch break)

Working Hours (Option 2)

  • Mon/ Tue / Thu / Fri: 8:00am - 5:30pm (inclusive of 1-hr lunch break)
  • Wed: 8:30am - 5:30pm (inclusive of 1-hr lunch break)

Both Options

  • No work required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
  • Any additional hours required may be compensated by Time-Off in Lieu, subject to supervisor approval

Contract Duration: 12 months (1 June 2026 - 31 May 2027)
