We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiographer to join our medical imaging team. The Radiographer will be responsible for operating various radiology equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiographic techniques and patient care, ensuring accurate imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, Ultrasound, and Mammography.
- Position patients correctly to obtain the most accurate images and assist in the immobilization of patients if necessary.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
- Follow established protocols for image production and patient identification.
- Evaluate the quality of images to ensure diagnostic standards are met.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient symptoms and imaging requirements.
- Maintain patient records and update information as required.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Provide patient education about procedures and address any concerns or questions.
- Assist in training and supervising student radiographers or other staff members.
Education & Experience
- Proven working experience as a Radiographer in a clinical setting for at least 3 years.
- Required competency and experience in Ultrasound and Mammography.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care.
- Proficient in using radiology information systems and electronic medical records.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Must be a registered practitioner with Allied Health Professional Council.
- Experience in Angiography will be an advantage.
