Brief Summary
We are looking for a qualified Radiographer to conduct DEXA scans and vascular ultrasound assessments, contributing to a cutting-edge research programme focused on cardiometabolic health. This role emphasizes high-quality imaging and thorough assessments for participants with cardiovascular-related conditions.
Responsibilities
- DEXA Scanning (50%) Conduct whole-body DEXA scans for comprehensive body composition analysis including total body fat percentage and bone mineral density. Perform regional body composition assessments, focusing on fat distribution and lean mass. Ensure optimal patient positioning and scan integrity while conducting quality control checks and phantom calibrations. Maintain accurate records of scans and participant data. Vascular Ultrasound (40%) Execute high-resolution B-mode ultrasound for measuring carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT). Image the common carotid artery and its branches bilaterally while adhering to established protocols. Achieve high standards for image quality, ensuring minimal artifacts and accurate anatomical representation. Administrative & Research Support (10%) Schedule imaging appointments and maintain equipment maintenance logs. Assist in developing research protocols and contribute to quality assurance audits. Collaborate with the research team to support data collection for ongoing studies.
Requirements
- Education & Registration: Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography. Current registration with the appropriate regulatory body in Singapore or equivalent, along with a valid practicing certificate. Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant clinical radiography experience is required. Essential hands-on experience with DEXA scanning and familiarity with ultrasound imaging, preferably in vascular settings. Previous exposure to research imaging or clinical trials is desirable. Technical Skills: Proficient in operating DEXA scanners (e.g., GE Lunar, Hologic) and interpreting body composition data while adhering to radiation safety standards. Competent in B-mode ultrasound, with the capability to identify and image carotid artery anatomy effectively. Skilled in optimizing image quality and managing cine-loop acquisition and storage for further analysis. General: Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office and research database management. Meticulous attention to detail with effective organizational and time management capabilities. Team-oriented approach in a multidisciplinary research environment, demonstrating reliability and adaptability to varying research schedules.
