We operate a high-mix, precision engineering environment focused on innovation, process stability, and product industrialisation for global customers across Asia-Pacific.
We are seeking an experienced R&D / Process Development Engineer to support new product introduction (NPI), process optimisation, and manufacturing excellence in a high-precision production environment.
This role acts as a key bridge between R&D, production, quality, and suppliers to ensure stable, scalable, and high-yield manufacturing processes.
Develop, optimise, and stabilise manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, and efficiency
Lead root cause analysis (RCA / 8D) for production defects and implement corrective actions
Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) for process optimisation and failure analysis
Improve process capability, reduce variation, and enhance production stability
Lead industrialisation of new products from development stage to mass production
Define process flow, control plans, quality standards, and work instructions
Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis for new products and processes
Ensure smooth handover from R&D to operations
Prepare project budgets, investment plans, and product costing
Track project progress, timelines, and expenditure
Coordinate with external suppliers/vendors for technical improvements and defect resolution
Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and relevant industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001 / automotive-related quality frameworks)
Manage and resolve customer complaints related to assigned projects
Work closely with QA teams to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Ensure adherence to occupational safety and environmental regulations
Identify process risks and implement improvement measures where required
Lead cross-functional project execution involving engineering, production, quality, and suppliers
Provide technical direction and ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones
Support internal audits (ISO / EHS) as required
Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related discipline
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or product development
Experience in optoelectronics, sensors, semiconductor, or precision manufacturing preferred
Strong knowledge in:
DOE (Design of Experiments)
RCA / 8D problem solving
DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
Process optimisation / yield improvement
Familiar with:
Creo Parametric
SAP ERP
Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint
Strong analytical thinking, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
