Job Description
We are seeking a creative and experienced R&D Manager to lead product development and innovation initiatives within our food and beverage operations. The role is responsible for managing the full research and development process, from product conceptualization and testing to commercialization, while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in food product development and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage R&D activities for new food and beverage product development
- Develop and improve product formulations to enhance quality, shelf life, cost efficiency, and market competitiveness
- Conduct product testing, pilot trials, sensory evaluations, and production scale-up activities
- Research market trends, customer preferences, and competitor products to support innovation initiatives
- Ensure all products comply with food safety, labeling, and regulatory requirements including HACCP and relevant industry standards
- Work closely with production, procurement, quality assurance, and marketing teams to support successful product launches
- Maintain accurate documentation including formulations, SOPs, product specifications, and trial reports
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource planning for R&D activities
- Liaise with suppliers, laboratories, and external partners regarding ingredients and technical support
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the R&D department
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food product development or R&D, including managerial or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of food processing, ingredient functionality, and food safety regulations
- Proven experience in product development, testing, and commercialization processes
- Good leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Hands-on experience with pilot trials, lab testing, and production scale-up
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment
