Who are we looking for

We are looking a candidate that will be working in a small and dynamic team and will be responsible to maintain the operations of an advanced Power Electronics Materials Application Laboratory in Singapore.

The candidate will be supporting applications development programs, be responsible for conducting analytical campaigns, execute DoEs, operate New-to-Market process equipment and ultimately be a key reference to the Electronics Assembly Applications team.

What will you be doing

  • Lead application development programs focused on power electronics materials, including hands-on sample assembly, process evaluation, and summarizing results into detailed reports for presentation to project stakeholders.
  • To take full ownership in material evaluation projects from conception through implementation to conclusion, ensuring accurate and actionable results.
  • Operate semi-production equipment such as stencil printers, die bonders, sintering machines, automatic dispensing systems, and reflow ovens; design and engineer sample fixtures to support assembly processes.
  • Perform advanced material analysis using TG, DTA, and SEM-EDX cross-sections analysis; conduct statistical data analysis and prepare comprehensive analytical reports.
  • Support the business development team by making proof of concept assemblies for potential customers, negotiating assembly processes and timelines, and delivering high-quality samples.
  • Support Operations team in quality improvement campaign by performing material analysis under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain laboratory operations, ensuring safety compliance, 5S standards, inventory control, and proper upkeep of machines and equipment.
  • Collaborate with global power electronics application teams and cross-functional groups to develop new applications and products.
  • Engage with vendors, machine builders, and analysis institutions to expand laboratory capabilities in assembly and material analysis.

Who are You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science (or equivalent diploma) with at least 2 years of experience in Electronics Assembly; a Master's degree is considered an advantage.
  • Proficient in operating semi-production equipment (Stencil Printing, Die Bonder, Sintering, Dispensing Systems, Reflow Oven).

What competencies will you need

  • Skilled in material characterization techniques (TG, DTA, SEM-EDX) and statistical data analysis.
  • Strong project ownership and ability to manage end-to-end evaluation projects.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written reports and oral presentations
  • Collaborative mindset to work with global teams, vendors, and cross-functional groups.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, 5S practices, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and deliver high-quality results.
