R&D Manager - Food Innovation

As a growing manufacturer in the plant-based industry, we develop and produce high-quality vegetarian and plant-based products locally for international customers.
We are looking for a passionate and hands-on R&D Manager to join our dynamic team in Singapore. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning creative concepts into commercially successful products and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will play a key role in bringing new food innovations from the R&D kitchen into full-scale production, helping us expand our portfolio and drive the next generation of sustainable foods.
Location
On-site role based in Tuas West Drive, Singapore
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new plant-based and vegetarian food products from concept to commercialization
- Improve and optimize existing products, recipes, and manufacturing processes
- Manage product scale-up trials and oversee successful first production runs
- Source and evaluate raw materials suitable for product development and cost targets
- Conduct sensory evaluations and ensure consistent product quality and performance
- Develop and maintain product specifications, technical documentation, and formulations
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process improvements, and innovation projects
- Work closely with production teams to improve efficiency, product quality, and cost optimization
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance
- Prepare product presentations, customer tastings, and innovation showcases for clients and visitors
- Develop product costing and support pricing strategies
- Analyze trial and production results to continuously improve products and processes

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Food Science & Technology or a related field
- Experience in food R&D, product development, or manufacturing scale-up
- Strong understanding of food production processes and quality standards
- Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for plant-based foods, innovation, and sustainability
