Job Description

  • Manage a team of bioinformaticians to:
  • Design assays, develop and implement algorithms and analysis tools for various genetic applications
  • Develop pipelines for annotation of assay panels with information from public databases.
  • Work closely with molecular biologists to provide interpretation of data and support troubleshooting
  • Establish and deploy pipelines for process automation and routine analyses.
  • Remain up to date with the latest developments in genomics and biological informatics. You may engage with collaborators or users, and you may attend and present at scientific meetings as appropriate.
  • Lead a biostatistician to provide statistical support in product development and manufacturing process quality control.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • MS degree or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, computer science, or biological sciences, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Proven experience in team leadership is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in sequence alignment and primer design
  • Proficient in Python and R, and experience with SQL; familiarity with Linux is preferred
  • Knowledge of common sequence repositories and public annotation databases such as dbSNP, OMIM and ClinVar
  • Experience with data analysis and common statistical methods
  • Experience with product development and/or project management
  • Knowledge in genetics and/or molecular/chemical biology
  • A committed learner and leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed team environment
