Job Title: Quotation Engineer
Reporting To: Operation Manager
The Quotation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations for customer inquiries. This role involves analyzing technical requirements, evaluating production costs, and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness. The Quotation Engineer plays a crucial role in securing new business and maintaining profitability by providing precise and timely estimates.
. Analyze customer requirements, technical specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate quotations.
. Evaluate material costs, labor, and production processes to determine pricing structures.
. Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
. Review RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and assess feasibility based on manufacturing capabilities.
. Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals for customer approval.
. Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and company policies in cost estimation.
. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance profitability.
. Maintain and update the quotation database with pricing records and historical data.
. Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing on materials and services.
. Support the sales team by providing technical insights and justifications for pricing decisions.
. Track and follow up on submitted quotations to convert them into orders.
. Stay updated with industry trends, material costs, and market dynamics to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
. Minimum Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
. Experience in cost estimation, quotations, or manufacturing processes is preferred.
. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software is an advantage.
. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost estimation.
. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
. Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
. Solid understanding of CNC machining operations and manufacturing processes (Experience in 3 Axis, 4 Axis & 5 Axis).
. Strong negotiation skills and experience in dealing with suppliers and vendors.
