Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor (Building) to support the commercial and contractual management of projects from tender award through project completion and final account settlement.

This role will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, progress claims, subcontract management, procurement support, variation orders, and project cost control. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective commercial management and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the commercial and contractual management of projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and manage progress claims, variation orders, subcontract payments, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs and assist in maintaining budget and cost controls.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and highlight commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support contractual matters, claims, and project records.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Support the administration of main contracts and subcontracts.
  • Attend project and technical meetings to monitor design developments and cost impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3–8 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience in building, industrial, infrastructure, or data centre projects will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of cost management, contract administration, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with progress claims, variation orders, subcontract management, and final accounts.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying-related software.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially aware, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
