Job Description

Job Description:

Quantity Surveyor specializing in underground utilities construction to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the costs and budgets of underground utilities projects, including electrical, and telecommunication infrastructure systems. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure financial control, accurate cost estimation, and efficient procurement processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

  • Prepare precise cost estimates for underground utilities construction projects, considering materials, labor, and associated overheads.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control and cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Tendering & Procurement:

  • Prepare and issue tender documents specific to underground utilities projects, analyze and evaluate tender submissions.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes tailored to underground utilities construction needs.

3. Cost Control & Monitoring:

  • Monitor project costs and expenditures, providing regular financial reports and forecasts.
  • Identify, manage, and report cost variations and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

4. Contract Administration:

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts and subcontracts related to underground utilities construction.
  • Resolve contractual disputes and issues, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.

5. Collaboration& Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Provide expert advice on cost-related matters and project feasibility for underground utilities projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Additional Information:

  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8.30 AM - 6 PM
  • Salary Range: Commensurate with work experience and qualifications.
